As Windows Support Engineer you’ll be developing and maintaining the support model for Hosted Windows solutions provided to O2 Unify clients. This includes responsibility and accountability to deliver tangible results based upon systems performance and uptime as well as the true end-to-end customer experience.
• Administer/Handle all Windows/VMWare server, storage, operating systems and related hardware/software in support of external and internal client base
• Develop/support automation scripting efforts to speed deployments of infrastructure services
• Administer/Handle Windows/VMWare backup/recovery and disaster/recovery operations in support of all related business applications. Perform test system backups/restores and disaster recovery processes as required
• Troubleshoot, and resolve Windows/VMWare hardware and software problems on servers, storage and related technologies
• Troubleshooting Platform, Infrastructure (and management of this in line with Vendor Best Practice), Application and Customer Experience
• Analyse & resolve system, server, application, network performance issues.
• Establish and maintain regular written documentation for the team knowledge base
Experience
• Extensive experience of working in a managed services environment
• Experience with Windows Servers
• Good working knowledge in vSphere & vCenter Automation Center
• Support Experience of vCloud, vCOPS & vShield products
• Added bonus of using VMware SRM, PowerCLI & Chargeback
• VMware certified
• Basic knowledge of Linux. (Desirable)
• PowerShell scripting knowledge
• Experience with troubleshooting platform, infrastructure, application and customer experience
• Sound diagnostic capabilities and complex fault resolution
• Experience with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change management
