Change Manager

The Change Manager role within BSS SG Technical Delivery team, Business Support Systems is responsible for two primary sets of tasks:
1. Accountable for managing vendors / skill groups to complete impact assessments of change requests within the SLA? Currently, the Technical Delivery team manages impact assessments of minor code / config CRs for all systems / applications within BSS SG.
2. The Change Manager is also accountable for ensuring that a holistic view of each change is taken and that all aspects of the release, both technical and non-technical are considered.
3. The role of the Change Manager is to ensure that standardised methods and procedures are used for the efficient and prompt handling of all application software/configuration changes.
This includes:
  • Establishing and maintaining strong disciplines of Change Management
  • Managing change impact upon production system(s) and processes
  • Negotiating and agreeing change priorities
  • Preparing CCB template for each minor CR and presenting it for approval in fortnightly BSS SG CR Delivery Meetings
  • Change management with vendors / skill groups
  • Release management, if required
  • Vendor management
  • Business stakeholder management
  • Environment management
  • CR financials, if applicable
  • Agreement of release schedules with the business
The Change Manager is a key member of the BSS SG Technical Delivery Team and is involved in the whole CR life cycle involving scoping, design, development, testing, implementation and closure.
