Our client specializes in FCC and European compliance testing.
Our client seeks to employ a Regulatory Compliance Engineer for both testing and certification of electronic devices. The selected candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of electromagnetic principles and practices and be able to perform measurements using a wide array of equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Extensive knowledge of electrical circuitry design and operations is required in order to facilitate debugging of clients products.
The candidate will have extensive knowledge of global standards and regulatory requirements for various countries such as US-FCC, Canada-IC, Europe-ETSI, Japan-MCI etc. In addition the candidate will be required to create, edit and/or customize test matrices and test plans tailored to meet specific needs of the Company’s client base. The Engineer will be expected to maintain/oversee the company’s equipment calibration and/or certifications and will be expected to perform system verifications and validations on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, the candidate will have knowledge of ISO17065, Telecommunication certification body program and be familiar with technical review and certification process.
Perform EMC & EMI tests and engineering analysis, per various standards (e.g. CISPR 22, EN CISPR 24, CISPR 32, EN61000-4-x series, FCC Part 15B) for electronic and electrical products, such as ITE, Telecom, Consumer Electronics, and Wireless Communications devices.
Testing experience and knowledge of test standards and requirements for VHF/UHF FM systems and wireless communications systems such as broadband CDMA, TDMA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 802.11 and other similar technologies
Understanding and testing experience of intentional and unintentional radiators for both the licensed and unlicensed spectrum per FCC CFR 47 rules and regulations as well as Industry related RSS radio standards
Testing experience of European ETSI radio standards EN 300 328, EN 301 893, EN 300 440, EN 300 220, EN 300 330, EN 301 489-1 thru 50, etc.
Experience testing products for Dynamic Frequency Selection for both master and client devices
Experience testing wireless devices for RF exposure, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), utilizing the Speag DASY4 SAR system
Perform quality checks on various equipment for radiated/conducted and immunity
Perform technical reviews and certify various applications for FCC and IC certification.
Ensure that all applicable requirements of the FCC/IC rules have been satisfactorily addressed and the device demonstrates compliance.
Communicate with the applicant/assigned authority or Administrative Reviewer for requesting any additional information necessary for the certification of a device.
Complete test reports to be reviewed by the Certification Manager.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field with 5 years working experience or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 2+ years of experience
Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience performing regulatory testing of Wireless products for EMC
Extensive knowledge of international regulatory compliance standards and test methods
Familiarity with the Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) requirements and processes as well as knowledge of the ISO17065 certification assessment program.
Familiarity of the FCC TCB scopes A1-4 for unlicensed devices as well as B1-4 for licensed devices.
Competency performing RF measurement utilizing such instruments as spectrum analyzers, Network analyzers, cellular callbox, power meters, etc.
Computer skills –Programming experience using NI LabVIEW is a plus, competency level on using TILE
Advanced competency with Microsoft office products
Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
Ability to work under pressure, with all levels of staff, to communicate with Compliance & Standards Authorities, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
