Three is a leading UK Mobile NetworkOperator with ambitious growth
plans is looking for a LTE Planning andOptimisation Technical Lead to
join a team of experienced engineers responsiblefor the delivery of the
planning, performance and optimisation of the LTEnetwork.
Already operatingat a Senior or Principal level, you'll be a technical leader, able to draw uponyour track record and use a wide range of technical experience to help shapeour success. Your approach will be customer focused and aligned to thecommercial goals of the business. For us, best in class network solutions do notmean following others. Working alongside internal business functionsand interfacing with the Managed Service Partner and RAN equipment vendors, youwill be a technical lead; designing new and innovative ways to get the best outof three's network, as well as defining new processes and procedures.
You will achieve the highest levels of customerexperience and work cross functionally to ensure the performance of thesesolutions is optimised and meet operational KPIs.
You'll also be a talented manager of technical changeand innovation, you have a tried and tested ability to manage conflictingpriorities and identify innovative solutions. A flair for developing highperforming technical solutions is essentialReporting to the LTE RF Design and Planning Manager, you will provide technical expertise and leadership in technicalsubject matters. You will set the strategy and direction for a breadth ofsolutions, associated tools, technologies and processes to support current andfuture business requirements.
Working closely with the RAN Service DesignTeams you will champion the design and delivery of high quality, cost effectivesolutions in support of business initiatives whilst maintaining high levels ofcustomer experience and network perception.
You will managethe technical relationship with key technology suppliers to understand andinfluence their product roadmap to support business goals to deliverbest-in-class customer focused solutions.
Your previous experience will be from a Network Operator, ServiceProvider or Vendor. You will have excellent practical knowledge of RAN systems,preferably LTE although candidates with previous 3G experience can takeadvantage of Three's LTE specific training.
LTE Radio Planning - Provide optimal LTE radio plans based on a number of scenarios. Adapt existing thinking from RAN design teams to apply to an accurate radio plan. LTE RF Optimisation - Responsible for the management of physical radio optimisation. Interworking with the 3G network, to deliver the best 4G network experience for Three's customers. Cross Functional Engagement - Working with internal RAN Design teams, our Managed Service Partner, RAN Vendors and our Shared 3G MORAN Network Partner. Effective Solution Delivery - Delivery of best-in-class radio solutions, to budget and on time. Operational Assurance - Provide ongoing support to cross-functional operational teams to ensure capacity and in-life performance of solutions is optimised and meet operational KPIs Vendor Management - Develop effective and mutually-beneficial relationships with our Radio Network Vendor. Attend Meetings/Forums - Technical expert, enforcing business objectives with internal and external teams. May be required to attend meetings at 3rd party and vendor offices in the UK.Must Have:
Strong Radio Planning and RF Optimisation experience in a Senior or Principal role Experience of working in a fast paced, delivery focused team, potentially working for an operator, MSP or vendor Demonstrable experience and/or expert knowledge in the following: Radio Planning Prediction Tools Optimisation Techniques Technical/KPI Reporting GiS Tools, such as Mapinfo Performance Improvement based on KPIs Desire to coach junior team members and act as a subject matter expert. Demonstrate ability to be adaptable and learn as LTE technology grows. Ability to make decisions based on previous experience, as well as design guidelinesNice to Have:
Qualified in a Engineering or Telecommunications discipline, preferably to degree level Experience of LTE systems, planning, optimisation and interworking with 3G Business Skills /Personality
Experience of working cross-functionally across a diverse range of business functions Articulate and good at explaining technical detail in simple non-technical terms to stakeholders Effective and persuasive communicator with confidence to communicate at all levels Experience of proactively managing risk and engaging at the appropriate level to resolve complex issues and bottlenecks whilst owning the solution Manage own time effectively and prioritise several activities simultaneously to deliver to agreed timescales Self motivated, delivery focused individual who takes responsibility and willing to go into the details of needed Sees the bigger picture and distinguish the important and urgent Understanding of key business drivers, including marketing and financial objectives
