Three is a leading UK Mobile Network Operator
with ambitious growth plans is looking for a LTE Planning and
Optimisation Engineer to join an experienced team responsible for the
delivery of the planning, performance and optimisation of the LTE
network.
Already operating at Engineer level, you'll be an excellent technician, able to draw upon your track record and use a wide range of technical experience to help shape our success. Your approach will be customer focused and aligned to the commercial goals of the business. For us, best in class network solutions do not mean following others. We consider network performance and technical capability to be an enabler for growth - and that means fresh thinking. You'll also drive our values in day to day activities, supporting Senior Engineers within the team.
Working alongside internal business functions and interfacing with the Managed Service Partner and RAN equipment vendors, you will follow new and existing procedures to identify and diagnose potential performance improvements and customer affecting issues.
You will achieve the highest levels of customer experience and work cross functionally to ensure the performance of these solutions is optimised and meet operational KPIs.
You have a tried and tested ability to manage conflicting priorities and identify innovative solutions. Adaptability and the ability to work to tight timescales is essential.
Reporting to the LTE OptimisationTechnical Authority, you will provide expertise in technical subject matters.You will implement the solutions and processes defined by the Design Teams andthe Technical Lead to support current and future business requirements.
Working closely with the RAN ServiceDesign Teams you will deliver high quality, cost effective solutions in supportof business initiatives whilst maintaining high levels of customer experienceand network perception.
You will work withour key technology suppliers to understand and influence their product roadmapto support business goals to deliver best-in-class customer focused solutions.
Your previous experience will be from a Network Operator, ServiceProvider or Vendor. You will have excellent practical knowledge of RAN systems,preferably LTE although candidates with previous 3G experience can takeadvantage of Three's LTE specific training.
LTE Radio Planning - Taking guidance from Senior Engineers and Technical Leads to implement radio plans in line with business requirements LTE RF Optimisation - Responsible for the implementation of physical radio optimisation changes. Interworking with the 3G network, to deliver the best Ultrafast network experience for Three's customers. Cross Functional Engagement - Working with internal RAN Design teams, our Managed Service Partner, RAN Vendors and our Shared 3G MORAN Network Partner. Effective Solution Delivery - Delivery of best-in-class radio solutions, to budget and on time. Operational Assurance - Provide ongoing support to cross-functional operational teams to ensure capacity and in-life performance of solutions is optimised and meet operational KPIs Must Have:
Radio Planning and RF Optimisation experience in a Engineer role Experience of working in a fast paced, delivery focused team, potentially working for an operator, MSP or vendor Demonstrable experience and/or knowledge in the following: Radio Planning Prediction Tools Optimisation Techniques Technical/KPI Reporting GiS Tools, such as Mapinfo Performance Improvement based on KPIs Demonstrate ability to be adaptable and learn as LTE technology grows. Ability to make decisions based on previous experience, as well as design guidelinesNice to Have:
Qualified in a Engineering or Telecommunications discipline, preferably to HND/Degree level Experience of LTE systems, planning, optimisation and interworking with 3G Business Skills /Personality
Experience of working cross-functionally across a diverse range of business functions Articulate and good at explaining technical detail in simple non-technical terms to stakeholders Effective and persuasive communicator with confidence to communicate at all levels Experience ofpro-activelymanaging risk and engaging at the appropriate level to resolve complex issues and bottlenecks whilst owning the solution Manage own time effectively and prioritise several activities simultaneously to deliver to agreed timescales Self motivated, delivery focused individual who takes responsibility and willing to go into the details of needed Sees the bigger picture and distinguish the important and urgent Understanding of key business drivers, including marketing and financial objectives
