GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position requires intensive hands-on experience in enterprise networks or Data Center? Server/Blades experience is required. SAN and Storage skills are definitely a plus.
The Huawei Enterprise Division's?Delivery & Services group is in need of a SAN/Server Engineer (SCE) to join a newly established, high energy, highly collaborative team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Technical support for Huawei Enterprise IT products to Huawei customers, partners, and sales/marketing teams. Handle all technical support problems including Server installation/configuration/OS tuning/ patches to complex Server/OS troubleshooting and problem resolutions Act as the technical lead to provide technical guidance to other teams and customers. Responsible for Storage project implementation, which includes installation, configuration, testing, and project management. Responsible for Channel partners' training? Confirm that Channel resource can support Huawei's product installation and maintenance service. Responsible for storage routine maintenance and technical support. Responsible for service related technical activities such as training, technical communication, technical demos, etc. JOB QUALIFICATIONS?
Education and/or Certifications/Licensures:
Minimum?
1. BS in a technical field (CS/EE)
2. Windows Server/ Unix/Linux/VMware experience as well as basic network knowledge
Preferred?
Related Server/SAN/storage experience in major computer company is desired
Relevant Work Experience:
Skills (Technical or General):
In-depth experience and hand-on experience with SUN/Solaris, Linux systems and storage (SAN/NAS) technologies Solid understanding of SCSI, Fiber Channel, SAN, RAID, I/O Storage Sub-Systems and High Availability. Hands-on experience installing, configuring, analyzing, optimizing, and troubleshooting systems, storage, and related technology. Enterprise level backup solution design, implementation, and administration experience using Veritas/Symantec NetBackup. Good Communication skills and ability to work in teams. Self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and fluent in English both oral and written. Minimum 1+ years working experience in IT or service industry. Leading company wor?experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift/carry materials, move about the office, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork? Travel may be required?
