Three is undergoing a period of significant transformation in the provision and management of IT and Network services.
Three's Business Operations function is responsible for ensuring the effective end to end support across IT Infrastructure, IT Applications, Business Intelligence, Core and Radio Network domains.
We are looking for the right person to join our IP Support team to ensure that we consistently maintain a high quality of service availability for our customers.
Reporting directly to the IP and Security Manager, the individual will be required to play an important role in providing technical support as well as contributing to the operational development activities of the team as a whole.
Working within the wider Back Office support team you will be responsible for supporting the IP network infrastructure serving the customer mobile network.You will provide operational control and maintenance of IP equipment supporting key end customer services including, Mobile Broadband, Billing, Provisioning, CRM, Retail, Content Delivery, Mobile Packet Core, Contact Centre and Production / Corporate data networks.To provide out-of-hours on-call support cover as part of the 24x7 on-call rota.Integrate new services and infrastructure to support the evolution of mobile network services in a highly adaptable and cost effective manner.Maintain high levels of service continuity on IP devices for both internal and external customers, with a strong focus on end-to-end serviceTo provide 3rd level technical support for IP equipment from vendors inc. Cisco, Juniper and HuaweiTo troubleshoot logged faults in order to accurately isolate the cause, taking corrective action to minimize the impact of faults when they occurTo liaise with vendors where necessary in order to resolve vendor relates issues and monitor progress through to resolutionSupport the implementation of new equipment, and the ongoing maintenance and configuration of existing systemsSupport project deliveries from engineering, review design documentation, implement solutions, and subsequently deploy configuration changes to the live environmentDocument and refine standard operating proceduresDevelop and refine best practice and standard processes that improve the management of the security infrastructure.Build good working relationships with staff from all areas of the business to consistently achieve the best results.Must Have:
Technical competenciesHands-on experience with Cisco IOS and platforms including Nexus,7600, 6500, 3750Hands-on experience with Juniper JUNOS and platforms such as MX960, M320, EX9214, E4500, EX4200Hands-on experience with Huawei NE40 platformsHands on experience with Cisco ACE and CSM load balancer productsAble to provide in-depth analysis of network traffic using traffic analysis tools such as WiresharkA good understanding of routing protocols, including RIP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLSA good understanding of high availability switching and routing environments including HSRPA good understanding of TCP/IP technologies such as DNS, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPsA good understanding of operational best practisesBehavioural competenciesHigh level of self-motivationExcellent communication skillsFlexibility in approach to workWillingness to learn new technologiesOpenness to new ideas and conceptsOrganised approach to fault finding and ability to take responsibilityAcademic backgroundRelevant qualifications such as CCNP, CCIP, JNCISDesirable:
