Head of Telecom Service Team

VRC are seeking highly skill motivated candidates to lead a team of architect’s and advanced proof of concept activities. Within this role successful candidates will add deep knowledge of service area, which includes wireless network planning and optimization, management service, and service tool family architecture. The Head of service team will direct the key technology research of service area and future service business model of NFV/SDN. Successful candidates will report to the Head of the DC as well as key business and technical stakeholders in HQ.
Your responsibilities include:
 Lead and direct advanced technology research in Ireland DC.
 Interface to HQ, senior management presentations and customer engagements.
 Strategic direction of technology adoption and portfolio realization.
 Direct and manage architecture and proof of concept teams.
 Discuss with customers on business requirements and present to stakeholders.
 Technology roadmap and innovation planning.
 Technical specification and technical reporting.


Requirements & Qualifications (domain specific, partial qualifications taken into account)
 Master or higher degree in computer science, software architectures and/or communications or significant relevant industry experience
 15+ industry years’ experience, with at least 8+ years of R&D or service delivery working experience in telecom service area
 5+ years’ experience in technology leading role(s) with Hands-on and can-do attitude
 Service provider experience preferable, Tier 1 in real-world deployments
 Excellent Knowledge in end-to-end MBB network evaluation and optimization, network planning, management service, SQM, CEA, OSS, BSS, NFV/SDN
 Strong leadership skills with proven track record of advanced prototyping
 Strong understanding of relevant business models in cloud systems.
 Experience in international forums or standardization a strong plus
 Fluent in English (written and spoken)


This is a fulltime contractor position with 6 months renewable duration based in Western Europe with overseas travel according to business needs.
