Key Responsibilities include:
• Design and build robust and scalable solutions for Big Data problems
• Rapid Development and design on JAVA/SCALA based server side software to prove the concept of prototypes
• Ability to take general direction from lead architecture team members, but more importantly be able to work in an efficient and independent manner.
Desired Skills and Experience
• B.Sc./M.Sc.in computer science, engineering science, software engineering or similar relevant discipline; with a minimum 5-7 years of applicable software development experience;
• Demonstrated practical understanding of the specification, design, documentation, coding, testing and release of commercial software;
• Fluent in JAVA & SCALA coding;
• Hands-on coding experiences with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Storm etc.)
• In-depth insights of popular big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Mahout, MLlib, Giraph etc), and thorough knowledge of Big Data principles (data parallel, graph computing etc), architectures and their implementations in large environments
• Problem solving ability and lateral thinking capability;
• Proven ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines to accomplish objectives;
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel;
• Entrepreneurial thinking and work ethic.
This is a fulltime contract position. Business trips may be requested as necessary to support strategy engagements.
