We are now looking for strong leaders to support in growing our delivery activities towards industry vertical customers.
Job Summary
The Ericsson Global Competence Domain (GCD) within Global Professional Services Operations (GPSO) has responsibility for delivering worldwide senior competence services (Development, Implementation, Integration and Support) on Ericsson solutions.
To facilitate further growth (global coverage/ support new product and service introduction to all 10 regions), the GCD is looking for highly experienced and motivated Consultants in the key domain of Energy & Utilities. The candidate should have Utilities industry knowledge, be strong in customer interaction and take part in further expanding the Energy and Utility business by becoming involved in understanding the business needs customers with view to support solution sales and deliveries or specific consultancy engagements.
In this role you will work centrally and will be part of a global team of highly skilled industry experts within the domain of Energy & Utility working with sales / account teams, operations teams and the customer. As a Consultant in the GPSO Industry & Society Utilities team, your role is to significantly contribute to Ericsson’s global commercial success in the emerging Smart Metering & Smart Grid Communications markets.
Responsibilities
  • In close co-operation with the Regional Customer Units develop and promote customer specific engagement topics and tactics, addressing the business needs of the utilities industry, and leading to sales of complete solutions, comprising hardware, software and services from Ericsson as well as from 3PP partners.
  • Sell and deliver consulting engagements and leverage on consulting engagements for identifying the relevant offerings for utilities industry customers.
  • To proactively seek out new business opportunities in ongoing projects and existing customer engagements for continuous upselling and follow-on sales.
  • Support the scoping and planning of customer specific projects in collaboration with Customer Unit (CU) / Key Account Manager (KAM) or regional Operations teams.
  • Contribute to best practice knowledge sharing and knowledge management in the BL Industry & Society global community for Energy & Utilities.
  • Contribute to the global building of Energy & Utilities portfolio assets as required, including the development and re-use of offerings, processes, methods and tools and best practice sharing
  • Identify and establish relations with Energy & Utilities strategic partners
  • Monitor market needs, trends, standardisation, regulatory, the business landscape, ecosystem players and competitors.
Required Skills and Experience
Industry Competence & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Energy & Utility sector with special emphasis on the ICT transformation opportunities as represented by Ericsson propositions such as Smart Meter, Smart Grid and Customer & Revenue Management
  • Acting at Very Experienced/Senior level for a minimum of 5 years
  • Strong business understanding of the Energy & Utilities market including business drivers, industry dynamics, processes, value chains, regulatory environments and major stakeholders.
  • Have experience in communicating a variety of Go To Market Strategies and be aware of
    • Revenue Share arrangement and financial models
    • Pay As you Grow possibilities and associated financial model
    • Capacity on Demand strategies and financial models
  • Demonstrated experience from an ability to develop business ideas and translating customer needs into technical requirements on Energy & Utility solutions and operations.
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience of consultancy role or related roles.
  • Solid experience of having led Utilities sales engagements and/or consulting projects including business transformation
Professional (Consulting)
  • Proven track record in Business, Operations and/or Technical Consulting towards the Utilities Industry, across the Utilities supply chain (must include Distribution System Operators as a minimum, with experience in
    • Business Strategy development and implementation
    • Business Process re-engineering
    • Change Management, in particular technology driven transformation
  • Strong track record of having engaged with customers at C-level.
  • Expert in listening, scoping & translating customer issue into business opportunities.
  • Familiarity and experience with multiple engagement models.
  • Demonstrated financial expertise with solid capability to analyse financial KPI’s at Utilities Industry customers and explain how proposed solutions directly and indirectly influence these KPI’s.
  • Advanced business case and modelling skills.
