This IP Routers team develops HW platforms, L2/L3 functionality and ASICs to meet the technology needs of the operator community. The position of Technical Lead/Senior Test Engineer is based in San Jose, California.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- System verification (analysis, planning and execution) of new and legacy functionality on real equipment
- Test various routing (ospf, bgp etc ) and forwarding features on different hardware on the SSR Platform.
- Test automation and design of needed scripts and tools
- Planning and configuration of network topologies to support verification activities
- Planning and configuration of router equipment in a multi vendor environment
- Interaction with product management, software/hardware development team, and System & Technology to understand customer and product requirements.
- Debugging of issues found and verification of implemented fixes for the same.
- Ability to work closely with developers to reproduce, analyze, and debug internal bugs found during testing as well as customer issues found in the field.
- Ability to drive, as Technical Lead, large teams within a multi-site environment.
- 3 to 6?Years of experience in below Routing Technology Testing
- In depth knowledge about routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP and/or RIP
- In depth knowledge in MPLS technology including VPLS, LDP, L3VPN, RSVP and/or PW
- In depth knowledge i? testing routing platforms – line cards, route processors, backplane, fabric etc
- Experience in testing?Ethernet, CFM, BFD, LACP, STP, PPPoE, PPPoA, DHCP, MLPPP, TCP, UDP, SCTP, SNMP and/or ATM
- Well versed in usage of test equipment such as Agilent, IXIA and Spirent with solutions such as IxN2X, IxNetworks and Spirent Test Center.
- In depth knowledge in routing platform architectur? including route processors, back plane, line cards , control plane , forwarding plane etc
- Familiar with Virtualization/SDN
- TCL/Expect and/or Perl scripting
- Experience with testplan writin? for a given feature / Requirement specification
- Installation and configuration of one or more routers from Ericsson (Smart Edge, Smart Service Router), Cisco (7200, 7600), Juniper (M-series, MX-series) and ALU 7750.
- Proven experience of routing protocols including configuration experience and debugging experience in large topologies and experience of OSPF, ISIS, BGP or other applicable protocols
- Proven debugging skills and analytical ability debug in complex environments (including multivendor topologies)
- Proven experience as team player within a multi-site environment.
- Ability to work in a team based development environment
- Must be a contributing team player and have a self going attitude
