Nexius is currently hiring a Mongodb DBA in Reston, Chicago or Bay Area.
Specific duties include:

Specific duties include:
- Manage and maintain mongoDB servers across multiple environments
- Design & implement development teams on sharding and indexing strategies
- Monitor deployments for capacity and performance
- Implement and maintain MMS (mongoDB Management Services)
- Define and implement backup strategies per data retention requirements
- Admin mongoDB to achieve 100% monthly availability
- Solve production DB problems when needed
- Develop and document best practices for data migration
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with mongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working with large distributed database systems with focus on performance & tuning.
- Deep knowledge of DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices
- Strong operational experience with NoSQL Data Modeling
- Ability to write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Highly self-motivated with the desire to embrace new database technologies and must be able to work independently or within a team in a high demand and dynamic environment.
- Strong team player with excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment with a broad scope of responsibilities
- Ability to work seamlessly as part of a multi-site, multicultural development team
- Self-motivated, passionate about software, and driven to achieve committed milestones
