Project Manager (AutoCAD)

Nexius is currently hiring a Project Manager (AutoCAD) in the Hanover, MD area.

Performs architectural management and supervision of projects from job procurement through preliminary and final design to job completion stage. Plans, organizes and supervises the quality and progress of all phases of the assigned project(s).

Responsibilities and Duties
Project Manager:
  • Determines project manpower needs to meet projected completion schedule, establishes priorities, and adjusts or alters manpower allocations as required.
  • Monitors and supervises the activities of the staff assigned to the project. Reports any problems to the staff member’s direct report.
  • Determines individual project fee allocations and monitors percent of budget spent vs. actual progress.
  • Performs basic design computations.
  • Coordinates the required staffing (disciplines required and numbers of each) for large and complex projects.
  • Obtains necessary approvals from client and regulatory agencies in accordance with contract provisions.
  • Conducts a detailed design review of final plans and specifications ensuring accuracy and completion prior to issuing final construction drawings.
  • Attends client meetings to discuss project requirements and progress.
  • Maintains all project accounting data and prepares monthly progress reports.
  • Provides coordination and work scheduling of project between all technical disciplines and client.
  • Assists in marketing activities including proposal preparation, job estimates, technical presentations, and project development.
  • Responsible for capturing new work for the firm targeting both current clients and prospective clients.
AutoCAD Design experience necessary to oversee the actual designers:
  • Design development drawings on AutoCAD from preliminary design drawings and/or sketches.
  • Translates sketches, verbal and written information into CADD drawings.
  • Organizes the layout of plans, details and schedule on CADD drawings.
  • Checks own work (using highlight marker) to ensure that all redlined corrections are fully and accurately transferred to the CADD files.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience, with minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • AutoCAD capability.
