PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To achieve and maintain the highest possible level of customer satisfaction, lead customer toward their overall strategic goals with innovative RAN Transport IP Optimization service offerings as well as to secure Ericsson’s interests during the sales, project implementation and delivery phases. This also means assuring that the technical service solution is in line with the overall strategy for the customer in the GSM, WRAN & LTE areas.

POSITION Solutions Architect RAN IP Transport REPORTS TO Head of Transport Design and Optimisation – NDO
DESCRIPTION The Solution Architect RAN IP Transport shall have responsibility for defining innovat? service solution offerings across the GSM,WCDMA& LTE technologies IP Optimisation offerings. The technical Management of the projects within the various accounts will be large part of the role as will engagement with customers, specifically focused on RAN IP Optimisation. He/she will specifically have deep technical knowledge of both RAN IP Architectures, Ericsson solutions and optimization of these solutions? In addition, Transport network features & functionality and product roadmaps with the ability to work toward higher management layers within customer organization and be prime contact from NDO perspective toward customer for the RAN IP Optimisation related offerings.
Responsibilities and Scope of Work
Pre-sales

• In the pre-sales phase, the Solution Architect RA? IP Transport should
• Identify new business opportunities for the existing customer and identify new sales opportunities as part of ongoing service delivery specifically focused on RAN IP Transport.
• Supply information on the service solutions to the existing customers and to potential customers
• Make presentations on the service solutions internally and for customers
• Bring new ideas on the table on service solutions offerings to meet strategic needs of customers.
• Together with the sales managers identify new customers (when relevant).

Sales/negotiation
In the sales/negotiation phase the Solution Architect RAN IP Transport shall support the Customer Solutions Responsible on developing technical service proposals for RAN IP based GSM/WCDMA & LTE Optimisation offerings under PA NDO? He/she shall be responsible to assure that the technical service solution is in line with the overall strategy for the customer.
Support will include:

• Technical analysis of the solutions to ensure feasibility.
• Development of the service solution proposals.

Service Delivery

• In the service delivery phase the Solution Architect RAN IP Transport should
• Support the Customer Project manager in defining processes and methods for the contracted service scope
• Support the Customer Project manager to provide technical direction of the service solution
• Prepare presentations to higher level management within the customer organization.
• Key customer contact for the RAN IP Optimisatio? based technical solution

• The Solution Architect RAN IP Transport has a general responsibility to
• Cover the GSM/ WRAN & LTE services product portfolio of Ericsson for the RAN IP Transport offerings.
• Work for increasing the sales for the account
• Ensure the customer satisfaction.
• Be updated on the RAN IP roadmap to enable the offering of technical service solutions
• Be updated on competitor’s offerings.
• Build good customer relationships, and in particular assure the relation with the CTO/VP.
• Maintain a network of contacts within Ericsson and the market unit.
• Assist in red team activities when required.
• Be updated on the market trends and the local and regional markets
• Actively drive the knowledge and best practice sharing within the organization
• Constantly drives improvements and change.
• Provides guidance, directions and leadership

• A Solution Architect RAN should
• Have broad WRAN/RAN system knowledge especially of Ericsson’? RAN IP service solutions and products.
• Be creative, innovative and proactive to the strategic needs of the customer.
• Strong personal drive, self-motivated with good leadership, negotiation, communications and interpersonal skills.
• Have a thorough understanding of the sales process.
• Have very good knowledge of the business situation and the relation between the technical solution and the price and implications on the pricing.
• Be able to digest and present and discuss various technical topics regarding existing service solutions and coming solutions.
• Ability to develop goodwill and professional respect with customers by demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer requirements, translating these into the context and service solutions.

• Should be excellent in English, spoken and written.

Qualification In summary, the following qualifications required:

• University Degree or equivalent in computer or telecommunications engineering.
• Able to speak and write in English at an internationally acceptable level.
• More than 5 years relevant design experience in the telecommunications industry with focus on RAN IP Transport Optimisation.
• Deep knowledge, understanding and experience in the following areas-LTE, WCDMA and GSM , with focus on small RAN IP Transport products, solutions and architectures
